Passion, persistence, and a hunger to create, have been the steady jet fuel propelling Daniel’s dynamic creative journey.

Tenacity is what brought Daniel and I together back in 2009. He was 14 when we met and already determined to seek ways to put his creativity into motion. He had gotten wind of Youth Design, a design-centered/out-of-school program that I had founded in Boston with a mission to empower talented urban teens, he was looking to apply to the program. Fast forward, Daniel was not only a stellarYouth Designer but returned as a mentor to young creatives in the program during his college years, while earning a BFA in Industrial Design and Product Design at Massachusetts College of Art & Design. His talent, focus, and work ethic was palpable from the get-go – and with a quiet confidence he takes all of this with him into each new creative collaboration and challenge set before him.

Today you can find Daniel deeply immersed in a fabulous visual soup, where he allows room to play with a variety of tools – following his heart to the page, through the lens, or onto the canvas, with his unique point of view that feeds his soul and makes his work sing. A natural multi-disciplinary artist and designer, I shine a spotlight here on Daniel Smelansky and just love to see him shining brighter than ever. 💛
